Edgar Renteria’s Supercool 2009 Giants Moment
Who is the KING of Can Crushing now that Ben Davis dropped the crown!?
Alcides Escobar made hit 11,000th career pro AB last week. He hit his 100th career HR a couple months ago, ending the long-standing debate over whether he would hit 100 triples or 100 dongs first. He has 97 career three baggers
Active WS CHAMPION GIANTS 2025: Recap
How can I get my toddler to stay in her bed?
Watch Verification Thread - If you're uncertain if a Rolex is good/bad/fake, post info and pics here
I am clueless about watches. This was my uncle‘s and I got it in an inheritance. Can anyone determine from this photo if it’s legitimate? Thanks
Spectacular Giants Moments by Old Bastards: On May 10, 2005, 42-year-old Jeff Fassero tossed 5 IP of shutout 1-hit ball vs a Pirates lineup that featured All-Stars like Jason Bay, Ty Wiggington, and Freddy Sanchez (!). Badass moment! Of course, Jim Brower gave up 3 in the 6th and we lost... oops
In Sep 2014, the Giants "recalled Angel Villalona from Richmond Flying Squirrels". He never appeared, and wouldn't have been eligible for the playoffs anyway. But - did he get a ring?? Hopefully not! But remember, guys like Fred Lewis & Frandsen got a ring despite never appearing regular season 2010
There are two men ever who have played in the major leagues with the first name "Williams". Remarkably they were BOTH born in May in the early 90's, they are both still playing pro baseball, and they both have extremely similar -erez names. Keep grindin' Williamses
Active WS CHAMPION GIANTS 2025 Pt. 8 (prev 7 in comments): Francisco Peguero, who somehow earned 0.5 WAR while going 3 for 16 in 2012. In 2024 he played in MX/VZ with FIVE former Giants-system guys (Ramiro Peña, Billy Hamilton, Lewis Brinson, Shaun Anderson, & Carlos Martínez). Go Francisco!
With dust settled, did anyone find out how Mike Jackson stayed in the UFC? He got cut in 2022 with just 1 win. He debuted in 2016 and spent 2,164 days on the roster. That's more days than Cyril Gane has been in the UFC. How? I guess he did beat a 3x UFC WW champ but that was after !
I have a 2016 Honda Civic and it seems like the gas cover area is making this intense clicking sound. What’s going on?
Andreas Stahl had a rough UFC run. In 2015, he went 0-2 against debutant Gilbert Burns & the 2-2 Ponzinibbio... & was cut. Stahl fights this weekend vs fellow UFC vet Jessin Ayari. Stahl will try to hit 5 Consecutive Wins vs Fighters with 15+ Career Wins! Which sadly doesn't mean much
Aside from the infamous Rick Camp Game, what are other games where an EXTREMELY improbable event occurred, yet the team that benefited from it ultimately ended up losing the game?
What sort of coating, etc. is used to make this color changing sheen?
In 2019, Sam Huff hit 15 HR for TEX A-ball team. This feat - hitting 15+ HR in a season in under 30 G for ANY professional baseball team EVER - has only happened ~10 times. Jerar Encarnacion is 1 of those 10 with 18 HR in 93 AB in Mexico. They played together in a few ST games so far; MLB history!
Baseball is wild. I think of Goose Gossage as a 1970’s icon. TIL he was a reliever on a Mariners team where he appeared in 36 G, posting a 117 ERA+ with 31 games finished… and on that team was Alex Rodriguez(!) who played until 2016
Just discovered a fun trivia: The two best 'rentals' (ie played just 1 season total) in SFG history in terms of fWAR are both commonly cited players as hated former Giants! Melky with 4.5 and JCJ with 3.2
What was it like watching Barry Bonds in his prime?
Jackson Palmer co-created Dogecoin. I once read he owned 2.5% of all coins. This isn't true, but he did give away what he did have. Made me think - has anyone in crypto created a coin (or just owned) that was worth BILLIONS a decade later yet they had 0% of it?
Remember Jarrett Parker? He's a former Future Giants Superstar. In 2015, he became one of just 12 players in MLB history to post a season (min. just 50 PA but still) with PA/HR under 10. On that list? Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, Josh Gibson, Ted Williams... and JP. What coulda been :0
ACTIVE WS Champion Giants #6: Hunter Strickland. We all remember him in the 2014 playoffs - not good. Still, he's still got a Giants WS ring just like Fred Lewis*. However, Hunter is still going. He'd retired and missed all of 2023, but had 72 g for the Angels last year w/a 3.31 ERA. He's a FA
Jackson Palmer, cofounder of Doge, gave his share of it away. How many people in history have: Owned something which, just ~a decade later, became worth billions of dollars and he had no ownership of it?
Phil Niekro: What could have been...
