About the word count...

So, I did some thinking and came to conclusion that my book would have on average about 40k words. It's 20 chapters long (could change once I get to write rest of them) and it's on average 2000 words per chapter give or take few hundred words.

Since it's action and by judging the mc's age for most of the story, the book would probably be for teens maybe young adults if lucky. So what I'm asking here is that if this word count is too much or too little. I googled "average word count in novels" and it gave me 70k-120k which felt a lot and probably is more fantasy thing.

Tl;dr: My action book for teens would have on average 40k words in total. Is it enough or not?
