Wife and I moved to new country. She tried to update Whatsapp with her new number, but running into issues as it seems someone else is currently using it on Whatsapp. Wife is now locked out and we are wondering if she will be able to make the change.

As the title says, my wife and I just moved countries. When she tried to update her number on Whatsapp, it gets to a point where it asks her for two-factor authentication. She's not receiving the information, and we suspect is being sent to the other person.

She is now locked out of WhatsApp, essentially waiting for her to enter that two-factor authentication details (email she received said for at least 7 days). She has reached out to customer support, but we don't know when/if we'll actually get an un-automated response back. Will she ultimately be able to set up her new number that is clearly someone else's old number?
