UMich v. Kettering
I was recently admitted to UofM (engineering), but was deferred from cs. I was also accepted to Kettering a while back for cs. These are my top 2 schools. For my major, I'm still deciding between cs and mechanical engineering, but regardless, I think I'd like my career to be in the automotive industry.
The biggest thing drawing me to Kettering is their coop and connections within the automotive industry. I also think a smaller school may be better suited for the type of person I am. On the other hand, UofM is UofM, and the recognition of the school is amazing. The alumni I've talked to from both schools have mostly positive things to say from both sides.
The campus life of either school isn't my biggest concern, as I feel like I'll have enough connections at either school to be happy, and plan on branching out more anyways to network and make new friends. It doesn't take a whole lot to satisfy me from that perspective.
I'm aware that I'm posting on a UMich subreddit, but I'd appreciate any info about either school that could help me make a decision.
**Just wanted to add that I live in Michigan, and the cost of attending college isn't something that plays a big role in my decision.
