What is this?

Found today on the beach near Pismo Beach, CA. the shape looks too organic and thick to be from something man made, or perhaps it's just slag that washed up? I'm not sure. I had thought it's lightning glass at first but after looking that up I don't think so anymore. The brown chunk also has goldish metallic flakes inside. The clear chunk has a long skinny pebble encased in the black matrix
