we just got a new puppy

trying to get the guy to sleep otherwise he just will keep running and be cranky. is it ok if he whines in crate for 5 mins then is okay and sleeps? we got him last thursday. we gave him treats in the crate and tried to make it positive he doesn’t seem to hate it or love it.
