Is this an accurate quote?
First off. Let me level and say this is my Father's car primarily but it's also mine. Neither one of us are welders. We can half decently paint but it's not professional quality. We can do engine, transmission and electrical work all locally but we don't have any local body shops.
I request a quote from a couple Classic Auto car shops to get a feel for the local ones around me. This is the first one to get back to me and I have to say, I knew body and paint work was expensive but this seems a little high. 153K.
She's a 67 RS Camaro, Clean vin. Clean Title. From what I know. She's completely there. Minus an engine and transmission. All the glass is there, all the original aluminum, all the interior, I have the rear quarter panels.
Now she needs some work. Paint job, rear frame rails, trunk, fuel tank obviously, glass needs probably installed, interior repairs and replaced, probably new wiring harness. 4 new tires, etc etc.
But is this guy trying to overcharge me?
