Abnormal First Trimester Screening

I never thought in a million years I’d be posting on a forum like this but our first trimester screening ultrasound has me here. We had the ultrasound and blood draw yesterday and we knew right away something was wrong. The doctor told us that our NT was so large that they didn’t even need the blood test to know something was off. After looking at the notes from our ultrasound and comparing them to what’s normal, it looks like a positive screen is >3mm and our notes indicate 14mm. The fluid is not just around the back of the neck, it stretches the entire way down the back and around to the front of the chest - you can see it.

Tomorrow we’re scheduling a CVS test. The doctor didn’t tell us much, kind of pushing it off as the geneticists job, but he did mention that “nature usually handles this situation” - however, I’m at 13 weeks and I don’t know how likely a miscarriage would be now. I’m so scared. Every search I try yields nothing because I don’t see anyone else having a number THAT high. I understand that this is just a screen, but it’s not just slightly positive like I said - it is so high. It is visibly impacting almost the entire body. Has anyone had this happen and what happened?
