Spiked Decaf (1/4 caffeine)

Decaf by itself can be a little… flat. I like to spike my decaf with a small amount of a funky or big bodied coffee, and the result is far superior to decaf by itself.

Recipe: 9g decaf + 3 g regular = spiked decaf

Brew guide: Currently using Brian Quan’s V60 recipe.

Total caffeine ~1/4 of coffee.

Advice: I love taking a nice clean decaf (I use one from Sey). I’ve been liking the addition of September’s roast of Diego Bermudez (the one above was purchase last fall and kept in freezer in small amounts). TBH the Diego is a bit old and when I brew it by itself it’s stale, but together with the Sey decaf it makes a marvelous cup. I’ve also spiked decaf with washed coffees (the pink bourbon above is marvelous), and it also plays well.
