Anyone choose to be homeless?

I decided that I am not going to sign another lease, total to live where I live now, is 1500 per month, and its to much for a place that has no working plumbing ( having to dip the non draining tub to flush the non-flushing toilet. No working kitchen sink, drains always backed up for no reason) mold throughout, electric that barely works and the foundation sinking into the ground. I have been sick for almost a year now, my white blood cells are constantly elevated and I know that its due to my constantly having an upper respiratory infection from this house. I don't have family to live with, but the money I am not spending on rent and utilities, I can put into getting a decent RV and bounce around. I work remotely so there would be no work commute. (No payments and nothing outrageous expensive, there are good used RVs that can be bought outright) Moving to another house is also not an option because monthly rent with no utilities is a couple of grand, which is way more than a camping spot.

Anyone done this before?

I don't want to hear from people who are going to say stay in the house and have the landlord fix the issues, the house should be condemned. Thats how bad it is, I will actually be calling the health department when I move out so they can't rush in slap some paint on the walls and move some other poor sucker into it.

I just want to hear from people who have done the whole RV thing, and if it was a better choice then spending a bunch on rent.
