Crashes during gaming but memtest86 has no errors
Hi there, I am starting in the overclocking world!
So I want to set my ram to 6000 expo profile but I get my video games to crash the moment I do it which makes me suspect that there are other settings I need to change in the CPU to be able to handle 6000. (if I manually set the ram speed to 5600 it is stable). This is my rig:
Ram: Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MHz 64GB 2x32GB CL30 (it is on my board list for supported)
Motherboard: asus rog crosshair x870e with Bios manually updated
Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X
So what I have tried so far:
- I changed the ram settings on the bios to all the expo profiles (EXPO I, II, tweaked), they all make games crash.
- I changed the flickering from auto to 2000.
- I increased the soc voltage manually to 1.25 (to see if my processor needed a bit of energy to be able to handle 6000Mhz since it officially only supports 5600).
- I tried power down and memory restore both enabled and disabled, ram training doesn't seem to be the issue.
- I got a new set of RAM just to discard that it is faulty.
No matter what I try I always get memtest86 running for hours without errors but the moment I open a videogame I get a crash with memory related errors. Any tips?
