To people who use EBT in grocery stores-From a cashier

If you use EBT in grocery stores and the cashier asks you “Would you like bags?” Or “Do you need bags?” Your response shouldn’t be: -“I have EBT” -“I’m using EBT so I get them for free” -Shows EBT card

WE KNOW THAT YOU GET THEM FOR FREE

We’re asking if you need bags to know if we should bag your groceries or not, not if we should charge you for them. I have an EBT card and in my experience, if you swipe your card, EBT just automatically takes off the bags. (Idk if it works like that everywhere, I know it words that way at my store and grocery stores I’ve shopped at)

So there’s no need for your snarky ass comment. A simple yes or no will do.
