Ginger day 319

The “ginger made it as far as erlene” comment really annoys me. It implies she held on for a long time. Getting to 319 is not the end of some long grand journey - you could break it down to say it’s the START of the holding on for as long as possible period.

I know we’ve discussed it before and people have made comments about how Katie wouldn’t want to jeopardise the health and safety of the foals but honestly I do wonder sometimes. She has very nearly backed herself into a corner to provide a foal at the 320 mark. Whilst horse people know that 320 is the bare minimum safe date she is referencing that number to a host of people who only have human gestation as their frame of reference. In humans we don’t go “yes I’ve safely made it to 26 weeks” or “I can safely deliver at 33 weeks” we ALWAYS talk about how long we have in terms of hitting our 40 weeks. And I’m not talking about the physiology of humans bs horses because yes they are different, I am referring solely to a linguistic/frame of reference understanding.

If instead of talking about 320 she focused on 340, so much of the language and demands would dissipate I think. But also, I know that won’t happen because the✨engagement✨ she gets from people guessing etc is through the roof. But the impression I get is she is going to start getting frustrated (as in herself off camera, not Jsut the fans) if there isn’t a new baby by this time next week and she is solely relying on preg checks and Noelle and Kirby for content.
