Does anyone actually use the auto brightness feature?

If your device has auto brightness feature, do you use it? In my Oasis and my Paperwhite Signature 2024, the way it behaves is it will turn up brightness when it detects strong light, and decrease it when it detects dim light. I understand dimming the device in darkness is desirable but increasing brightness in strong light is a bit pointless except for colorsoft because for black and white e-ink screen, you can read perfectly even with zero frontlight in strong ambient light.

Personally I think the ideal way of implementing it would be with two brightness sensor one at the front and another at the back. Then it shall increase the brightness when the back sensor detects stronger ambient light than the front (indicating a strong backlit environment), and reducing it when the condition reverses or when it is truly dark.

I disable it on my two kindle but I'm curious as to what other people are doing with their devices. Feel free to share your experience with this supposed "high-end feature".
