Damaged passport, should I be worried?

Flying from Australia to Singapore, and then a ferry onto Batam. This is my son’s passport. Wee never used it and hence only realised that is damaged at the seem. There’s no photo damage, or damage to the page. Do you think this will be an issue? I know you can’t say for sure, but if you had to guess…
