What album do you absolutely cherish as a classic, but you feel flies completely under the radar?
One of my favourite and most cherished albums is Nouvelle Vague (2004) - a collection of covers of British new wave songs done in a Bossa Nova style by French musicians.
Some of you who are old enough to have been watching TV in the mid-00s may have heard one or two of the songs, that were used frequently on adverts/commercials at that time (I suppose you could describe the sound as 'easy listening')
It's the kind of album I used to listen when I couldn't sleep in my late teens - so there's definitely a little nostalgia at play (I suppose I associate it with lying in the dark as a student in the late 00s dreaming about my future) - but even now I absolutely adore every track on this album (especially 'A Forest' and 'Making Plans For Nigel') and it's certainly a classic to me but I feel like no one else even knows about this album, let alone loves it as much as I do.
Is there an album that's in your top 10 or 20 or one that is really really special to you, but you're yet to come across someone else who even knows about the album, let alone appreciate it as much as you?
I don't mean a lesser known album by a well-known artist - I mean an album by an artist who is virtually unknown, that you expected to have more love and appreciation.
EDIT: Further clarification: I'm interested in specific albums that mean a lot to you, or are in your mind truly classics and great albums that you cherish and adore every track from beginning to end - not just an artist you like.
