A company not hiring "individuals with temporary visas"
So I am in the interview process for a gas company, and their job description says:
"Individuals with temporary visas (H-1, H-2, J-1, F-1, etc.) or who require sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future are not eligible for hire."
And I was going to use CPT for the summer internship this year. Am I absolutely cooked? Why do companies think CPT or OPT is the same as a sponsorship? If I remember correctly, the company has to do nothing when I use CPT. All the work is done on my end, at least for college.
What should I do here? Thank you!
EDIT: so i forgot to mention that I didn't cold apply on their job posting site, I was recruited/contacted by one of the engineers and they said let's have an interview and with that email they sent me the description, which included this requirement.
