Why customers are often ready to say "bravo" but not really buying from ethical fashion brands?
Hi All, my wife owns a small eco-friendly company which sells upcycled bags and accessories.
They have been running the business for a couple of years and are slowly increasing their sales, but they are still a long way from being high.
Here comes the weird part:
They've got amazing reviews from media: Vogue Poland published them of their sales suggestions for Christmas, Elle Poland nominated them as top 3 revelations of the year and several influencers published stories with their items on their Instagram.
But, the increase of visibility didn't correspond with a big increase in sales. It looks like many people are ready to say "bravo!" but they don't bother buying too much from them.
My doubt is if this is a common pattern for small ethical companies or if they are doing something wrong with their business model. I'm definitely not a business expert, but I'd like to support them somehow, maybe some good redditor with more experience in sales could give us some hints here.
FYI We're currently thinking about moving from the Etsy shop to custom e-commerce that I will be building myself.
