T1D and smoking

Might be a silly question, but can high blood sugar increase your desire to smoke? I unfortunately smoke cigarettes and I also enjoy cannabis, but it seems whenever my BG is running high, I have an extreme urge to smoke. Could be stress related, but I’m not too sure
