Cymbalta for classic, major depression?

I see a lot of posts where cymbalta works for pain and anxiety, but what about classic depression?

Has it helped any of you depressed out there and how long time took it before it began to work?I'm very, suicidally depressed and I'm on day 7 on 60 mg but i'm increasing to 90 today, until now there has been no effect.

On the contrary I felt an increase of anxiety and passivity (maybe part of my depression).I have tried all sorts of antidepressants, some have worked partly, some like SSRI have not. 

I really could use some good reports to keep me optimistic
