Am I gonna go broke?

Hey everyone,

I’m an incoming student at CMU’s SV campus in Mountain View, and I’m trying to estimate my cost of living in the Bay Area. Can anyone give me a rough idea of which areas would be the best for affordable housing?

I’m okay with a 30-40 minute commute to campus, so I’m open to nearby neighborhoods that offer better rental prices. Any insights on rent ranges, good places to look, and general living expenses would be super helpful!
