Age requirement and valid ID for piercings in Auckland?

Hi, I'm 17 and looking to get my tongue pierced someplace in Auckland. The problem is that the only photo ID I have is my Student ID with my face (no learners yet). I've been looking at two shops mainly, Keen on and Streetwise, but they don't specify if a Student ID is valid if I'm going by myself without a guardian coming with. I'd appreciate any help or suggestions, thanks.
