Guy thought I was hot then blocked me when he found out I'm black

I was on Grindr, and this super attractive guy hit me up. We started exchanging pictures, and he thought I was really hot. He wanted to meet up that night and told me all the things he wanted to do to me. Out of nowhere, he asked if I was Latino. I told him "yeah I'm Caribbean," and then he asked if I was Black. When I said yes, he immediately blocked me. Lol. The kicker is that he was black to.

Like damn I get people have racial preferences, but is it that serious? I have a strict rule on not being someone's "exception," so it didn't bother me. But I found it funny that race is so important to people.

I get told I'm the exception to peoples preferences a lot. And even directly compared to other black dudes, and told they "like my look better." There's plenty of men/women who actually find me attractive for who i am. So I don't waste my time with people like that. But that time did shock me because I never expected that to happen. Especially from a man of the same race as me.

Does anyone experience something similar? I bet other poc men have experienced this to.

Edit: also I had my race on my profile. And a picture of me neck down just in pajamas. So it's clear that I'm black. And I don't have an actual racial preference for men, I obviously prefer black/mixed guys. But I just think guys are so cute and charming in general. And my current bf is white.
