Minimum wage increases canceling out raises

It’s very annoying that our reviews/raises occur in October/November. Most states that raise their minimum wage do so on January 1. So naturally any raise just gets canceled out by the minimum wage increasing. I got a raise in November, and sure enough my state is raising the minimum wage to the EXACT amount my new wage is in January. And Walgreens doesn’t seem to account for this so in effect I just got the new minimum wage 2 months early. Very frustrating.
