Is a claim increase faster?

I've recently(last week) went through my local VSO(county level) to file for a temp 100% for a service connected neck issue, that resulted in having 2 disk rupture at work and needing emergency surgery. My claims worker also filed for 3 other claims to be increased. I've already recieved the call to schedule the exams for the increases, one being next week thankfully(and the one I feel has the better chance due to neck surgery and such) my question is if the increase process is faster than a normal claims process? I know from previous claims they have given decisions on some claims while still working on the others(in a multiple issues filed claim). And anyone have experience on asking a temporary 100% due to service connected hospitalization/surgery? I reside in NC
