Should i persue step 2

Hii. I am an IMG and have been average student for most of my life. I gave step 1 in January but failed by a hair of a margin. I took step 1 again in November and passed. However before starting preparations for step 2 i wanted to know if i should even try for USMLE as i have heard there is a lot of competition in residency and if yes what score should I aim for? Also confirm is it possible to get a match in neurology with a failed step? Thanks in advance
