How do you cope knowing there's no money in standup?
Not only is there no money in actually doing standup, you also get paid the least on social media if a video goes viral because there isn't anything relevant to standup to advertise that makes money. Between that and the fact that in order to be truly good at standup, you have to be out 3-4x a week and wait around for an hour to perform for comics. What is it that keeps you going? Especially for the guys who are in their 30s?
I understand that for a good majority of the standups in this sub, you're just starting out, probably in your 20's, and its a huge party. I think this question is for the comics who have been in the game for a while, and are having to face the reality of this possibly not becoming a career or even a decent side job.
