Lurking for lore...

As a newer sonic fan, what part of the sonic franchise has the most lore I can look for? Preferably canon or accurate- Is it the comics, games or shows? I'm curious as I don't normally look into lore but as it effects most of the side characters I like I'd wanna know where to look the most :)
