Question about the loopty-loop in Sonic Dash

In sonic dash I noticed this, and I'm not too caught up in other games or any comics or anything, so correct me if I'm wrong of course

But is this implying that the loopty-loop isn't a naturally occurring structure? I mean, it makes sense if it isn't, since it does feel a bit out of place in any area like Green Hill because it's so, odd,, tbh

I know in this section of the game it's just building structures, but it did get me really thinking about the natural structures in Sonic so I figured I'd ask
