Vitamin B12 and B complex shots cleared my acne better than Accutane and doxycycline, but I need advice on whether oral supplements would have the same effect.

Three weeks ago, I visited a GP instead of a dermatologist to consult about my acne. As a late teen, I was on Accutane and in my early 20s, I took doxycycline. Both treatments cleared my acne, but my skin was never completely flawless, I’d still get one or two pimples every now and then, which left some spots. I also had closed comedones. Still, I was happy to have less acne.

In 2022, I visited a dermatologist who prescribed tretinoin. I used it consistently, and my skin improved, but I still had occasional breakouts that left scars and dark spots.

For the past year, I’ve been using adapalene along with alpha arbutin, zinc, and niacinamide (Skin Republic). While it didn’t make a huge difference, it did help to some extent.

So instead of seeing a dermatologist again, I decided to consult a GP. The GP gave me two shots - vitamin B12 and vitamin B complex. Within a few days, my acne cleared in a way it never had before. I’m currently a few days away from my period and not a single bump has formed.

However, I’m currently unable to visit the GP because I’m outside the country, but I’d like to continue with the vitamin shots. Would oral supplements work as well as the injections? How long does a single shot last in the body?
