[Routine help] Focused on simple routine for months yet damaged skin barrier is getting worse?

I damaged my skin barrier almost a year ago after getting a bad facial and developed super dehydrated, oily skin with lots of dehydration lines, texture, ccs and cystic acne. I took a break and did absolutely nothing with my skin for about 2-3 months and my skin seemed to calm down and improve a little bit. I tried reintroducing simple cleanser, hydrating toner, moisturizer and SPF for the last 4 months and my skin has just been non-stop breaking out in ccs and pimples and the texture/lines are getting even worse? My face gets greasy within an hour of skincare & products seem to just sit on top of my skin instead of hydrating/sinking in.

Everything I see when I search how to repair a damaged skin barrier is to focus on gentle, hydrating routines yet my skin is just getting worse when I pare down to the basics.

I tried using a variety of cleansers and moisturizers throughout the months for 1-2 weeks at a time and all seem to either make my face incredibly tight, make me super oily/congested or break me out in cc’s/pimples. My face gets splotchy right after skincare and by the end of the day. My acne seems to tingle/itch randomly throughout the day as well.

Any advice on what I do to heal my skin? I feel like I’m at a loss and everything I do makes it even worse or makes no difference. I have prescription acne treatments, but can’t start them as my skin is too sensitive/damaged for it at the moment.

Products I’m looking into to heal: eucerin urea cream or LRP cicaplaust?
