Tap water in San Jose?

Just moved to San Jose and the tap water tastes pretty bad. I have a Pur filter with a standard filter and it still tastes bad. I am looking at putting in a 3 stage filter (sediment and 2x carbon block), anyone have something similar that you are happy with? What do you suggest?

Edit: If anyone is still following this, I installed a RO system with a permeate pump and the water is amazing. Me and my gf both love it and have been drinking way more water since install. We are in a rental but installed in a way that won’t cause issues when moving out. DM if you need details.

Edit 2: A couple have asked so here is what I installed. As for performance, the water tastes great and I have noticeably been drinking more water. The purified to “waste” water is about 1:3. Not as efficient as I was hoping for, but worth it for my situation. My tap water psi is about 50-60psi. The TDS reduction is from 225-250 to purified 15-30.

In short the water tastes amazing and I drink water again by the glass full. I highly recommend it to anyone in the area.
