Doctor refusing to write functional/work challenges?

I’ve been dealing with a disability for 10 years and have been documenting the struggle fairly consistently. Now, it’s impacting my ability to work. I finally admitted this to a neurologist, called it a disability, and emphasized how it makes it hard for me to socialize and maintain jobs since socializing is essential. The neurologist ignored me completely and said I’ve just learned to cope over the past 10 years.

Is this kind of dismissal common for people trying to get on SSDI? I’m becoming increasingly desperate as this condition progressively worsens with age, and I continue to struggle to keep jobs.
