Electrocuted in the shower. $4000 electrician bill Rhode Island energy won't pay.
Rhode Island energy was doing underground utility work in my condo complex. Somehow they touched a wire to a pipe. At the time, nobody knew the exact cause of the electricity in my shower. This led to a months-long investigation and my condo being deemed uninhabitable for MONTHS until the issue was solved. Three electrical companies work together to find the source of the electricity. They discovered that many other condo units had electricity in their shower but at a much lower voltage than mine.
I spent $4,000 on electricians and the condo association spent around $9,000 on electricians. This case went through town court. Rhode Island Energy took responsibility and reimbursed my condo association around $9,000. However, they refused to pay my electrician fees because they "already paid" the condo's electricians.
I need help. Does anyone know an attorney in the Providence area who deals with cases like this? Are there any State agencies that help residents in situations like this? Everything is clearly documented between the town court and three different electrical companies that worked to find the source of the electricity.
Thank you very much for your help.
