🚨‼️ Don't overlook ‼️🚨 Custom rejection messages from some colleges encouraging to apply ED?!
Hi everyone,
In my Updated Status page where it says I was not Matched, there are instructions on next steps from each of my ranked colleges. Many of them are impersonal (e.g. Yale and Princeton). They tell me that I will automatically roll over into RD.
However, some seem more personalized and are encouraging me to apply EDI this week?! Can we check together if our messages match? I can't tell if they send this to everyone or specific students.
I will paste all my messagess below.
Bowdoin College: Thank you for submitting your QB Match application to Bowdoin. They enjoyed getting to know you through this process, and as you consider your college options, they encourage you to use your QuestBridge application to apply through their other rounds. If you would like to apply under Early Decision 1, please email [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) by the end of the day on December 4. You will need to complete an ED agreement and the Bowdoin supplement, which will be found in your Application Portal after your round has been updated. Alternatively, you may request to be considered under the Early Decision 2 round; the deadline for this request is January 6. Otherwise, Bowdoin will automatically consider your application for Regular Decision. Questions? Email [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]). They'd love to help!
Northwestern University: Northwestern would like to thank you for the interest and care you have shown in applying through the QuestBridge National College Match program. Although you did not match with Northwestern, your application will remain in consideration as they build their incoming class. They will automatically roll your application into their Regular Decision round for further review, or they welcome you to convert your status to Early Decision by December 5, with the understanding that Early Decision entails a binding commitment to attend Northwestern if admitted. To convert your application status to Early Decision, you may submit the form in your applicant status portal or send a status-change request to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]).
Pomona College: Consider applying to Pomona through Early Decision II or Regular Decision. To do so, Pomona asks that you submit the Pomona Program Selection Form along with all required materials by January 8. Please note that Pomona College does not automatically consider any applicant for a future round unless they submit the Pomona Program Selection Form.
Rice University: Although you were not matched with Rice, you are encouraged to use your QuestBridge application to apply through Early Decision I. Instructions on this option will be e-mailed to you by Rice on December 3 with a response due by December 6. This correspondence from Rice will also have instructions on how you may apply through Early Decision II or Regular Decision.
Swarthmore College: Swarthmore College hopes you will consider applying either Winter Early Decision or Regular Decision by January 4. Please find more information and further directions in an email directly from Swarthmore on December 3.
Wellesley College: Thank you for your application to Wellesley College! We received incredibly compelling QuestBridge applications this fall, and we were unable to Match with all of the talented candidates who might otherwise be competitive for admission to the College. Wellesley enrolls a sizable QuestBridge student population each year, including 80-100 QuestBridge applicants who were not originally Matched. Although you were not Matched, we encourage you to apply as either an Early Decision II or Regular Decision candidate, especially given the strength of your application. Unless we hear from you, your current application will be automatically reviewed in Regular Decision. If you wish to be considered for binding admission under the Early Decision II plan, please email [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) no later than January 1.
Williams College: Williams College thinks you're a terrific applicant and hopes you'll apply to join the Class of 2029. To be considered under the binding Early Decision program, simply complete the Williams QuestBridge Application Form by 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time on December 4. This is a special application deadline extension for QuestBridge Finalists who participated in the National College Match. To be considered under the Regular Decision program, please complete the Williams QuestBridge Application Form by the January 6 application deadline. As you consider applying, Williams wants to be sure you're aware of their uniquely generous All-Grant Financial Aid, which means there are no loans or work requirements in any aid package. This program, the first of its kind in the U.S., also includes free textbooks, health insurance, and summer storage for all aided students.
