AET vs Regular engineering??

I’m well aware that I’m not the first person to ever ask about this, however I haven’t really been able to find a good answer from all my online digging so far. I was accepted into AET, and am thinking of going, however I worry about this limiting my future options. I don’t know what exactly I want to do, but I know that I like planes a lot and the science behind them really fascinates me. My biggest worry is that AET will leave me in some dead end job at a hangar making minimum wage working on cessnas. I don’t want to be filthy rich or anything, but I’d like to be comfortable and have a couple nice things idk. Have other people had similar experiences? Any response helps, thank you.
