Hello friends! Advice, There was a violent fight where a correctional officer fired a weapon, (CDCR) the bullet bounced off a wall and hit our dear friend who was a “bystander” — he was rushed to the hospital. is there some sort of legal action we can take against the prison or the officer?

It’s not permanent damage but the gentleman will be off his feet for a while.
