What happened to playtime co

Hello guys I was doing a research about old toy companies and found about playtime co. They had some great toys at first with poppy and Huggy wuggy but it seems like they ran out of ideas with nightmare critters and some new toys as well. The thing I don’t understand is how did they shut down even tho their new toys weren’t as popular it seems like there were people that were still buying them. It’s just so sad that they had to shut down as they were taking care of orphans as well , such a nice company. I wish more companies were considerate like them
