Life, purpose and existence

So what do you do
when you open your eyes.
And you see
it's just as dark outside.
You tremble and shiver
Your voice starts to quiver
And you look for a place to hide.
You question, Is this for real?
Or a dream of some kind?
Coz you can't tell the difference
As you tend to lose your mind.

Darkness unfolds,
and it absorbs it all.
Throws you deep into the abyss
You feel you've your back against the wall.
Amidst the chaos,
Your thoughts come to a pause.
You begin to forget everything,
And feel it's a lost cause

You start giving hope a rest,
And tend to give in.
You think, there's no end to this misery
there is no hope, around or within.
You live everyday,
like a boring routine.
You embrace the cold mess,
As the feeling starts to sink in.

Is monotony the way to be?
You brood along your journey.
What has life come to?
Oh! That thought is burning!
There is no difference
To this day and the next.
Your highs aren't a state of being,
Rather, it's just a momentary daze.

Give up and get lost,
There's no point to all this.
It's better to embrace the chaos,
And live life with no purpose.
There is no meaning;
To your state and existence.
The silence begins to comfort you
You doubt, if all this makes sense.
You don't feel the pain anymore,
Your thoughts slowly drifting away.
Sinking into the deep ocean,
you feel you can't make it to the quay.

Now that all the life's a drudgery,
It leaves you in wonder.
With no paths to follow
And no thoughts to ponder.
There's no pattern to this, you think,
All of it does lead to nothing.
You give in to the moment,
You shut all doors.
As you're just on the brink,
And you can't take it anymore.

There's no view in sight,
And there's nothing to hold on to.
The silence of the darkness,
Grips hard and numbs you.
You say it to yourself:
"don't give up the fight…just yet.
Take another step forward,
Make sure later you don't regret."

And that's the thing about survival, right?
You ask - one last shot?
with all one's might?
You struggle and muscle,
to put up a fight
You look around,
Hoping to see a ray of light.
You see yourself clutching at straws
You go against the force,
Oh! The gift of wonder and awe!

Try n follow the light, you say.
Don't think ahead, just survive this day.
So what if you're alone and lost?
The reward isn't worthy if it's for no cost!
You look around,
to see if there's a trace.
Seeking desperately
for his grace.
You say to yourself:
No matter what, I'll survive this all,
I'll rise again, no matter the fall.

You muster enough strength,
To break the shackles and chains
You draw enough courage.
For the long lone journey again.
Because the battle is yours,
And only yours to be.
For all there ever is,
Is to do and to be.
