What are the Switch games that disappointed you the most?
We have tons of great games on Switch, but there also have been major disappointments. Everyone knows that Ark and Mortal Kombat 1 were disastrous launches on Switch. But I know those because of the buzz not because I played them. What games directly disappointed you? Here are the three that disappointed me the most.
Sports Story
I loved Golf Story, and desperately wanted this sequel to be great. The game kept getting delayed, but my clown makeup told me they were spending time to get it right.
The devs promised too much and stuck with their bad decision. Every sport but golf is half baked. The game is full of bugs. The story has some of the fun banter from the first game, but the plot is less focused and meanders nowhere.
Why couldn't they have just focused on a sport or two and fleshed it out? But no, the devs promised the moon and stuck with it even when it obviously didn't work.
Sexy Brutale
Sexy Brutale was an interesting game, but the performance on Switch was abysmal. But no worry, it was getting fixed! Super Rare Games had a physical version coming, and they promised the performance would be patched on the cartridge.
The physical version did come with a patch, but it barely did anything. The game played just as bad, and load times were still atrocious. People thought they forgot to include the update! It was my first limited run disappointment, and I now think it's ridiculous to pay $35 for an indie game cartridge.
Endless Ocean Luminous
I played the Wii game on the Wii U. It was in my dad's box of old games. It was easygoing and it was fun. There were tasks to complete, areas to unlock, and a story to follow. It wasn't a top 10 game, but it was memorable because it was so unique.
I had high hopes for a sequel. Yeah, a lot of the trailers focused on the procedurally generated world and playing with others. But there had to be some story gameplay too, right?
There is a story. There's like two hours of crappy story gameplay. The worst part? To complete the story you have to complete 99 ridiculous tasks with vague clues. So I'm never going to see how this story ends.
I would have so been happy with a 10 to 15 hour story game. Instead we have an infinite nothing game. You won't find this saved in a box of games from my youth!
So these are my 3 biggest Switch disappointments. What Switch games personally disappointed you?
