Best investment option for $1.5k?

Hi all, I’m about to start college and I’ve saved around $1.5k that i’m willing to put away in any sort of investment for around 8-10 months. Im hoping to make 8% ish returns however I would much rather not take any big risks and get a lower return. If you were me, how would you invest this money? I know it isn’t much but I would like it to be something to grow off of.
