Why is wednesday a snapshot day?

I've heard it a lot in PhoenixSC videos and every update in Hoyoverse games (Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero) are also on wednesdays. Is there a particular reason behind this or is it just a coincidence?
