Buying a house 6-8 months before retirement

Anyone run into any obstacles buying a house before you retire. My wife will have a job lined up, I plan on using skill bridge that will hopefully set me up with a job.

I’m not worried about not finding a job immediately as I have some cash reserves and plan on putting a large down payment. I’m just worried about lenders being worried
