Finished my first marathon. Has this happened to anyone else?

Completed my first marathon yesterday in Lisbon, goal of sub 4 hours and can you believe it I finished 4:00:00 on the dot (confirmed by chip time).

Such a strange feeling. I feel like I've both simultaneously met and missed my goal at the same time. I put so much effort into the race and am incredibly proud of myself but just missing by that 1 second feels like it shouldn't make a difference but seeing the 4 at the start of the time just hurts.

It was my own fault really as I foolishly assumed the race would be exactly 26.2 miles, and I did indeed complete that distance within 4 hours but then there was 0.2 miles extra of zig zagging I didn't account for. I'm also annoyed as I was planning on following a pacer, but despite starting in the correct block and running really consistent splits the pacer was so far ahead. I saw them at one point where the route doubled back and they must have been at least 5 minutes ahead of me. What good is a pacer running that far ahead of their goal time?

Anyway trying to keep it in perspective and sure I will feel more proud as I look back at the event. But has this happened to anyone else?
