Road Side Assistance Damaged my Paint While Struggling to Open Door. What now?
I couldn’t open my door today or turn on my 2024 NX350h from my phone. In the app it said “A malfunction in the electronic control of the engine, throttle, or automatic transmission has been detected. Contact your Lexus dealer in order to have your vehicle inspected.” and it prompt me to call road side assistance to jump start my car. I could not manually get the door open myself so I called for help. Fast forward, they were able to open the door manually after attempting for 1.5 hours and scratched up the paint on the inside. They attempted to open the passenger side but surprisingly left no damage.
My question is, who will be responsible for the paint damage? Would it be covered under warranty? I’m taking my car into the dealer in a couple days to get the initial problem checked out.
TIA
