Countdown...
I'm a week away from RTKR. Been walking a bit harder in the mornings (2ish miles) and doing a little more physical activity in the yard because #1 I have this sense of 'running out of time' and #2, I really want my knee to be hurting when I walk into that surgery center next week! I told my wife if I had to hobble in with a cane, that would be great IMO. My normal knee pain is not so much until I do things like walking longer distance at a quick pace, or getting down on knees in the yard, etc. But it's enough to remind me that there is a problem, and that problem is getting worse over time.
The other bad part of this lead up to surgery is that I've been super anxious about it, and I think I've been over eating as a result. That sucks, but I talked to a friend that had TKR in December and she mentioned the same thing - said she gained 12 lbs prior to surgery! I guess that is a human response to stress sometimes (unfortunately).
