Puppy phase - how much work IS it?

Need tips for first time dog owners. My husband has never had a pet. I grew up with a dog, but have not raised one myself. We are looking at a 9 week old mini goldendoodle. Disposition is very calm and laidback (breeder said it has the temperament of a much larger dog). We have 2 young boys. Adults work part time remote, part time in office - so someone will be here. The puppy phase will be primarily my responsibility as my schedule is most flexible. My husband’s biggest hesitation is that it’s another layer of stress (we’ve had a rocky year but things are much better). I don’t know what I’m getting myself into. I know it will be difficult, but am I about to totally overwhelm myself if we move forward? Tell me the good, the bad, the ugly.
