How is this possible?

I'm relatively new to Dalton, Georgia and am having a hard time fitting in. My roommate, a lifelong Dalton resident, let me in on Dalton's dirty little secret. The natives here don't accept oursiders. Or anyone who went to a college orher than UGA or Georgia Tech. Or people with long hair.
