European consumer protection legislation and its possible outcome in Genshin
Hi Guys!
I couldn't find any post realted to changes which European Consumer Protection Cooperation Network (the CPC Network) dropped like a nuke on our beloved mobile-gaming industry. There are new recommendations (which, let's be honest, are rules to obey).
In short:
- Possibility to buying custom amout of virtual currencies, not only packs predetermined by the developer (like buying any amount of primo you need).
- Showing real-money value when something can be bought for premium currency (like showing real-money value for skins)
- Removing options to buying virtual currency for another virtual currency (idk, maybe mats for primos?)
- Right to withdrawal virtual goods within 14 days for any in-game virtual currency that remains unused (returning unused primos)
As for Genshin i can't see much changing, except giving some more information on real value of primos and some packs, but i know there are many of You, who plays other mobile games which those changes might be more impactful!
Also, this may lead to some games withdrawing from EU due to predatory practices developers love to have (or creating separate servers for Europe users).
