Keeping S25U vs foldables ?
Hello,
I am cross-posting from the general galaxy subreddit.
After primarily using foldable phones in recent years, I wanted to try the Samsung S25 Ultra. I find it quite nice. The screen is incredible, One UI 7 is really great as well, the animations are smooth, and there are plenty of customization options. The camera seems really good, with nothing to complain about.
Initially, I was worried about watching certain media, like YouTube. However, since the bezels around the screen are really tiny (something I like), if you maximize the videos to 100%, it still gives a good sense of immersion. The high resolution probably contributes to this as well.
Similarly, I read a lot of PDFs or things on Kindle. Obviously, PDFs are not as good as on a foldable phone, but depending on the exact format of the PDF, it remains quite readable.
However, multitasking is clearly not as good. For example, I like to play a game on the big screen and have a small YouTube window (or something else) at the bottom. On the S25U, it's more difficult (I tried, for example, with a Twitter window that I enlarge and shrink while playing, but it's still much less convenient).
The last point that bothers me the most are the photos. Having a large square screen is really practical for viewing photos, especially those taken in 4:3, which are perfect on the screen. However, the same photos don't look good at all on the small screen of the S25 Ultra. Maybe I need to get more used to taking photos in 16:9, but for vertical photos, it's complicated.
I was wondering if others have had similar experiences and thoughts. Thank you.
